Middle office capQORT — solution for asset management companies

In Q1 of 2017, installation of middle office capQORT was completed for two major asset managers: Alfa capital and Kapital. For detailed information on software installation in Kapital Asset Management LLC visit our web site here.

Principal capQORT developments in Q1 of 2017 embrace:

Pool order operation

New functionality

When a group order of raising an asset share fails due to inadequate cash resources, detailed explanation is available.
It is possible to review distribution of an asset to be purchased over portfolios of the group with projected target quantity and cash shortfall.

The table for viewing group orders includes a column ‘Net asset value’ (NAV). The column displays portfolio NAV of a subaccount from which an elementary order (part of the group order) would be made.

For group orders forwarded to QUIK from a QORT terminal: when an elementary order within a group is replaced in QUIK by another order, QORT automatically creates a new order linked to the original group order.

Group operations

New functionality

The table ‘Exchange orders’ contains a new asset filter instantly restricting a number of asset types, corresponding to orders in the table.

Automation and control

New functionality

New functionality for validating ISIN while sourcing an instrument via Bloomberg subscription: capQORT checks for correct entry of ISIN corresponding to one requested from Bloomberg.

Reports

New functionality

New reports: ‘Portfolio return chart versus model’ and ‘Portfolio underperformance chart versus model’.

System usability

Trader-manager has a new convenient form to view data – portfolio organizer. The latter represents a few windows reflecting the structure of a selected portfolio, its parameters, aggregated indexes, limitations and working orders.

Portfolio organizer is flexibly adjusted to objectives of trader–manager.

The functionality of portfolio organizer is under further development:

New functionality

The ‘fund’s aggregated data’ section includes depositary receipts and shares.

Instructions for portfolio organizer include the status ‘being sent’. The new status is conferred at the moment the instruction for execution is given and lasts till results come in.

Before an order is forwarded to execution, portfolio organizer makes sure that all obligatory fields in the order form are filled. OTC orders are checked for being confirmed by responsible officers.

The button ‘Enable control’ ensures that the system checks orders for correctness, delivering conclusions ‘Control passed’ or ‘Control not passed’ depending on the order conforming or violating restrictions.

The instruction section allows ‘preparing an OTC document’ for off-exchange orders. This also facilitates preparation and dispatch of an OTC contract.
