On February, 17, 2016 ARQA Technologies arranged in Moscow its 12-th annual seminar for clients and partners. The event got attended by over 350 participants from 102 organizations — mostly representing clients of ARQA Technologies i.e banks, investment and asset management companies. Among the partners of the company that participated in the seminar were the Bank of Russia, Interfax,  MB-Technologies, Moscow Exchange, MFD-Infocentre, NP RTS, Saint-Petersburg Exchange, SPIMEX, Autochartist, Bloomberg, CME, DataSpace, EBS, FIS, IXcellerate, KASE, S&P Capital IQ, THOMSON REUTERS.

This year started a trend of shifting discussion at seminar from just technological issues to include relevant business aspects that concern participants of financial markets at large.

During the first session Vladimir Kurlyandchik (Director of ARQA Technologies, business development) and Alexey Baburin (Head of QORT development) delivered traditional reports on yearly results achieved by the company’s two major products – the software complex QUIK and program platform QORT.

In the second session the Bank of Russia fielded three reports on business continuity and computer security. The speakers were the Head of financial market regulatory department of the Bank of Russia Alexander Arefyev and representatives of the Center for monitoring and response to computer attacks in the credit-finance sphere of the Bank of Russia Dmitry Frolov and Alexander Chebar.

The round table ‘Principal trends of the Russian
market in 2016’ saw heated discussion over topical issues in development of
stock, FX and derivative markets in Russia. Among its participants were Igor
Marich (Moscow Exchange),  Alexey
Sergeyev (SPIMEX), Roman Goryunov (NP RTS), Roman Lokhov (BCS), Vladislav
Kochetkov (Finam) and Zaven Gevorkyan (VTB24). The round table discussion was
moderated by Vladimir Kurlyandchik (Director of ARQA Technologies, business development).

Hardly less exciting was the course of another round table ‘Principal trends on international markets in 2016’. Opinions were exchanged between Daniel Corrigan (CME), Ben Tobin (EBS) and Igor Marich (the Moscow Exchange). The discussion was moderated by Roman Anokhin (Director of ARQA Technologies).

The last round table ‘Project management in financial institutions: business and IT’ addressed a rather novel point for seminar discussion as speed and quality of IT project implementation in banks and financial firms. The speakers at the table were Kristina Kovalenko (ATON), Sergey Danilin BCS), Svetlana Zaitseva (Otkritie Broker), Georgy Snimschikov (VTB Capital), Anatoly Chekmarev (Gazprombank) and Danil Baburin (ARQA Technologies) – all of them having vast experience of implementing projects of this nature in banks and firms. The discussion was moderated by Alexander Chetverukhin (IT director, Barclays Capital).

It should also be mentioned that the already traditional exhibition component of the seminar allowed ARQA Technologies and its partners highlight their latest technological developments and services.
